Growing in PYP 2!

In PYP 2, we have been having hands-on experience learning about living things.

All three classes are learning about the interdependence of humans and plants through working in our garden.

Pupils are taking charge of the process: from deciding what seeds to plant, to preparing the dirt, to planting and caring for our plants. We are also observing and documenting seed growth in class.

Students love finding worms and watching their seeds grow!

Some students are even taking plants home to care for.

You can help by observing plants and plant growth in your home environment or even in a local park.

Field trip to “Cia. Dos Bichos”

PYP2 have been working on a unit of inquiry about living things' needs and how they depend on each other. The children have been involved in many hands-on experiences in order to investigate and explore living things.
Last Friday we had the opportunity to go to Cia dos Bichos, in order to find out the answers to some of their questions, such as "What do animals like to eat?",  "Do baby animals sleep in cribs?",  "Can we eat the plants we grow?"
All the students were extremely excited with the field trip. They loved riding on the bus, exploring how food is grown and how animals are raised in a farm.

Check out some of our moments.
