Learning the benefits of working together

PYP 2 pupils had the opportunity to work with a partner to create beautiful art projects. 
Each pair traced each other hands and then decorated the hands together as well.

First, we practised working together and developed our technique.

Then, we decorated our practice hands.

  

We were ready for our mural project. 

Students danced around the mural until the music stopped.

Then we found a spot and traced our partners' hands on the mural.

 

We decided to add spot of paint to finish off.

  

We shared our finished work so that everyone could enjoy!

PYP2 Beta - Letters - Letters - Letters

Hello Parents,

PYP 2s are working hard...

We are learning and reviewing letter sounds. We are practising reading and writing letters and thinking about 
things that start with that sound.

The last three sounds we looked at were g, m and r. 

Here are some pictures of work completed in PYP 2 Beta.

These are the sounds we have already covered. The students are adding their own pictures to the sounds to show many things that start with that sound. 





PYP 2s are also starting to learn to read and write CVC words. 

You can see a few students from PYP 2 Beta wrote some of these words. Examples of CVC words are - cat, bed, sit, pot and bus. 

Please remember to read and talk about your students 
home readers everyday. 
The more they practice the better...

PYP 2 Sigma

 It's Lunchtime!

Everyday around 11:20 we start getting ready for lunch. We clean the classroom up and wash our hands before lining up to go to the lunchroom. Once we get there, lunchmode is ON. There's always rice, beans, a type of protein, a garnish and different salads. 
PYP 2's favourite day is Thursday, because it`s PASTA day! 
And did you know Wednesdays and Fridays we have desert? Yay!

PYP 2 Omega: Patterns, Patterns Everywhere!

PATTERNS, PATTERNS EVERYWHERE!

In PYP 2, all the classes have been investigating patterns that can be found around the class and at school. 

Students made necklaces out of dyed pasta to show what they learned. 

PYP 2 Omega wanted to show you some pictures of them practicing and discovering new patterns!

After we dyed the noodles, we made our own AB and ABC patterns.

 We worked on bead patterns to get ready for our necklaces. We worked on shape and colour patterns.

 Students even started to find patterns in the lunchroom, the class and all over the school!
