PYP 2's second Unit of Inquiry is all about stories!
Our current central idea is "Stories are told in a variety of ways" and that`s exactly what the students in PYP 2 have been exploring throughout these past few weeks.
Make sure you visit our classes to see what is going on...
Check out some pictures of PYP 2 Sigma:
PYP 2 Sigma classroom is set up with two role-play areas, a castle and a kitchen made by the children, to encourage the use of their creativity and oral language.
In Portuguese lessons they are working on manipulating well-known stories and creating puppet shows.

The children have been also listening to stories read aloud by teachers and told by their own friends. They reflect about the stories and they are learning to analyse the elements of stories (characters, settings, problems and solutions).
Together, we create stories based on these elements. In our circle we created the story and in groups the students illustrated it. Check out our latest one!
"The Princess, the Pirate and the Policeman"
And in Drama lessons they are acting out well-known stories in groups and soon will be creating their own to perform to their friends.
